More scammers using AI to dupe Americans | Morning in America

Thursday is National Slam the Scam Day, part of the Social Security Administration’s initiative to encourage Americans to be hyperaware of government imposter scams. More than 330,000 scams were reported in 2025, according to the Federal Trade Commission, which says artificial intelligence is enabling bad actors to use more sophisticated tools. Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano tells “Morning in America” that “people are susceptible to panic” and that Americans should pause before sending money anywhere.
