Geeta Ramanujam is the founder and Executive Director of Kathalaya Trust and the Academy of Storytelling.She established and founded the Academy of Storytelling the only Globally recognized Academy for Storytelling in the World a culmination of her vision and wisdom Spanning over 32 years in the field of education she is an internationally renowned storyteller, an Ashoka fellow,trainer,educator ,academician and administrator. Geeta uses storytelling as an effective educational and cultural tool in many leading educational institutions in India and abroad. Over 59,940 people have undergone these training programs. She has had performances of storytelling at the Scottish Storytelling Centre UK, International festival at Brazil, Storywood festival at Sweden, World Tales festival Poland and the International Storytelling Centre USA, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, and many states in India. She has many firsts to her credit of organizing and initiating festivals in Sweden Poona, Ahmedabad, Vishakapatnam, Madurai, Chennai, Mumbai and many other cities and states of India. She is also the first International coordinator of the RIC --The International storytelling Network and the Indian coordinator along with Eric Miller of the Indian Storytelling Network.
