5 Clubs On The Brink Of DISASTER!

Today on EFD, it’s not a top ten but instead a top five, as we bring you five clubs from across the continent that are in a financial crisis. There’s the ones we know about in Barcelona and Inter Milan. In Spain, the club was left in ruin by previous president Bartomeu, but we take a look at just how bad, whilst across the mediterranean, Inter’s Chinese parent company have lost out big time as a result of the pandemic. It’s all a mess in France too as the TV deal collapsed, leaving many clubs on the edge, but we take a look at Lille, who won the league last season. If it wasn’t for €100M of player sales they would have made yet another loss last year, whilst in Germany, relegation has ruined Schalke. Or rather, it gives them the excuse to clear out and rebuild the club from behind the scenes, after their previous chairman stepped down two years ago. And as for Derby County - is there a club in a worse situation in England? Probably not. The owner wants out, they fiddled the books, and now have just eight senior players on the books. Ouch.
