Lion Kill: Lion takes down Impala in middle of Kruger road as baboons in the river bed go berserk
Lion Kill in the Kruger Park with hair-raising sounds as baboons in the river bed go berserk.
This video is about a lion kill on the banks of the Sabie River not far from Skukuza Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park. After the lioness took down the impala ram, it was eaten alive by her and four males. Come see this tug-of-war, the lioness walking away with her prize. The experience was very mind-boggling and intense, there a couple of meters from the kill, their eagerness overwhelming ... and those eyes of the big mane!
This, certainly, is not for the faint-hearted ...
The distress call of the impala antelope as the lioness faught it to the ground, the impala did not even had a chance to die, it was virtually eaten alive as it later on tried to free itself ...
Put on those earphones, tune up the volume, listen to the baboons in the river bed go berserk, barking distressed, the snapping of bones as the lions feast!
See the lioness walking away with her prize ... the intestines of the impala.
Experience the strength of the big male lion, the mane, later on ploughing the land over with his hind feet with all his might as he drags the carcass with the younger males clinging onto it for dear life, fighting him, refusing to let go.
Initially a couple of vultures circled up high above, only two or three were sitting on top of a tree the other side of the road not far away, waiting, but they soon took to the skies.
Just listen to that V12 rev above those of the youngsters V8.
And then he sneezes at the end, in true spirit of the king of the jungle ......
Even today I can barely look without my emotions getting the better of me.

We are advocates for conservation of wildlife. Lets not forget the Elephant, the Lion and the Rhino are at enormous risk due to poaching. Go Google 'STROOP – Journey into the Rhino Horn War', it is a documentary feature film on the rhino poaching crisis in South Africa by Bonne De Bod. You will also see info thereof on the Internet.
