The End of Pirate Radio - Pirates Waive Goodbye

A historic day when all the rules got bent at the BBC when they started a pirate radio station on a floating ship just off the coast of Harwich.

In 1923 the BBC started as a commercial organization set up by the radio manufacturers in order to promote their goods the British Broadcasting Company became the corporation in 1930 but actually the BBC has always been promoter of strange things now of course in the 1960s it was the BBC who had the greatest vested interest in closing down the pirate radio stations, Caroline, Radio London, Radio City, Radio Scotland but actually in 2007 it's the BBC who appear to be intent on preserving them.

Pirate BBC Essex was on the air aboard a former light ship called the LV18 just off the coast of Harwich with all the stars Dave Cash, Emperor Roscoe, Johnny Walker and many others.
