Keeping this in mind, the Government of India had given licenses to 56 arms manufacturing companies in the year 2015 under the Self-reliant India campaign. Apart from this, Modi government created Ordnance Factory Board and added 7 new companies to it! Apart from this, with the help of some MSMEs and 433 startups, they started manufacturing weapons, their spare parts and ammunition in India. The benefit of this was that today about 411 military items and 4666 other weapons are being manufactured in India only. Because of which India will not have to depend on any country for weapons! Therefore, from next year onwards, the Government of India will make all the weapons in India except some special weapons.
