The KOBE BRYANT FREEZE OUT in 1998 All-Star Game

Remember the 1998 all-star game Michael Jordan went one on one with air apparent Kobe Bryant? There was a story that never told on media still this day, a Kobe Bryant freeze out happened in the same night.

MJ scored game-high 23 points to lead East Stars to a 135-114 victory. Kobe led West with 18 points. But West coach George Karl removed him with 2:44 left in the third quarter and did not reinsert him. The move pulled Bryant from the running for game MVP and ran against the weekend' idea of a passing of a torch.

Why didn't Kobe Bryant play in the 4th quarter?

It was a freezeout similar to one laid on Michael Jordan by Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson in 1985 Indianapolis All-Star Weekend. The freeze out was led by Karl Malone, Gary Payton, David Robinson, and the West coach George Karl.
