Inside Farringdon Crossrail
Tunnelling for the mighty Crossrail project is complete. The last boring machine came to rest in June this year, completing 26 miles of deep-level tunnel. Now the focus turns to fitting out the tunnels, laying tracks and preparing stations. The new east-west rail route is on course to open in December 2018.
We recently visited the Farringdon dig to take one last look at tunnel boring machine Elizabeth, before the kit is dismantled and removed. Watch the video above, and browse the gallery below for more information.
