Fueling Olympians: Lessons from the Diets of Elite Athletes

With the summer 2024 Olympics taking place over the past 2 weeks I have seen several pieces of content on how these amazing athletes are eating.

This topic always seems to come up whenever a major sporting competition is taking place and they usually highlight all the processed foods these athletes are eating.

What is rarely ever talked about is why athletes eat this way. It has less to do with the enjoyment of the food and rather using them as a tool to complement the extreme amount and intensity at which they are training.

As always I think we need to provide some context to why athletes fuel this way and some practical takeaways for you, the average person just looking to be healthy.
