We went back to the Burro Creek area near Wickenburg, AZ and got slightly more adventurous on some rough roads. It was totally worth it though.

What is pastelite? It is a type of opaque chert or jasper (chemical compound SiO2) that occurs in several pastel hues including pink, peach, gray, orange, and blue or violet. It is popular with lapidary workers because of it's color and ability to take a good shine.
