New 2024 Toyota C-HR - Stylish Compact Crossover Hybrid SUV

The Toyota C-HR instantly became one of the most distinctive small family crossover SUVs on the market when it was launched in 2016. Toyota is aiming to continue the trend with this radical all-new second-generation C-HR, which arrives in 2024.

At the front, the new Toyota C-HR introduces the new Toyota ‘face’ coming to all the brands future SUVs. It has C-shaped LED headlights and a ‘hammerhead shark’ design. Both front and rear overhangs are short, and alloy wheels up to 20-inches add to the excitement.

The side profile of the new Toyota C-HR is very athletic and distinctive. There are sharp design details set within smooth lines that flow front to rear. This is enhanced by the option of bi-tone paint, that sees the contrast black roof extended down into the rear three-quarter and rear bumper.

The new Toyota C-HR has an angular rear window crowned by two bold-looking winglets, for aero efficiency. It does not have a rear wiper, with Toyota promising “optimised airflow” to clear the rear glass. There is also an LED light bar with illuminated ‘Toyota C-HR’ logo in the centre.

The length of the new 2024 Toyota C-HR will be between 4360 mm and 4370 mm, the width will be 1830 mm, and the height will range from 1558 mm to 1564 mm. It is relatively large, similar to the previous model, with no significant changes in overall length. Its wheelbase measures 2640 mm.

On the inside, the new C-HR has ditched the asymmetrical dashboard of the previous generation for a new dashboard layout, which looks a lot more modern than before. The dashboard gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets a new 12.3-inch instrument cluster that also gives you a score depending on the way you drive. Furthermore, it is also more eco-friendly than before thanks to the sustainable material used for different touchpoints and upholstery.

The 2024 C-HR will be offered exclusively with hybrid power in Europe. It comes with a choice of three powertrains: a 1.8-liter unit, a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid setup, and a 2.0-liter hybrid with optional AWD. The base 1.8-liter delivers 140 hp, followed by the 2.0-liter with 198 hp, and the PHEV with 223 hp.
