Moribana Episode 2 - Shatai ep2
Hello, I am Junko, professor of Ikenobo Ikebana, the wonderful Japanese art of flower arrangement.
In Ikenobo Ikebana, as well as many other schools, such as Sogetsu and Ohara, Moribana is often the first Ikebana style that beginners learn. However, the arranging of Moribana is practised and enjoyed by all levels.
This is my second Moribana episode. This time I show you how to create a sub-style of Moribana called Shatai or slanting style.
I have included labelled slides so that you can see easily the proportions and how to place your flower materials. And because we all have access to different flower materials in different parts of the world and in different seasons, I have included some additional examples at the end.
If you have already watched my first Moribana episode, I hope you'll also enjoy this one. If you are new to my channel, you might like to watch my first Moribana episode along with some of my many Ikebana "tips and tricks".
We are now working on our next episode, so why not subscribe to ensure you are notified when our next one is published.
