British WW1 Grand Strategy and how it helped to end its Naval Supremacy - Andrew Lambert - 17/05/21

Professor Andrew Lambert will talk about Admiral Sir Jacky Fisher's Naval Grand Strategy, particularly those orientated around the Baltic plans, and how the British Army and politicians scuttled the plans. He postulates that it is this militarisation of the civilian population by the army that ended Britain as a great naval power. The long term effect of this is discussed in the last question at 1:21:26 onwards.
