Oracle Locks Simplified [Part-2] - Detecting and Alerting on Blocking Locks using SQL and OEM

This is the 2nd and final part of the topic on understanding and handling the most common oracle locks in a simplified way. In the first part of this topic we learned about locks, deadlocks and blocking locks using a few test cases and some real-life examples. if you have not watched the first part, I suggest you watch that first to get a better understanding of the topic on today's video.

In this 2nd part, we are going to a little deeper into the blocking lock issue and learn:

1) how to detect a blocking lock using SQL*Plus
2) how to monitor blocking locks using OEM
3) how to alert on blocking locks using OEM Metric Extension
