In a time of war, Iranian born ex-Washington D.C., US-Iran policy advisor- turned singer's latest musical creation, "Pure Hearts", embraces a paradox: that connection during conflict requires us to release rather than hold on. The song has two movements, exploring the delicate space between devotion and surrender, offering a perspective rarely seen in modern love narratives: that letting go, when done with tenderness and without blame, may be love in its purest form.

The US-Iran war, now over a month old, is continuing to rage, impacting the region and the entire world. Iranians with dual identities like Shervin, provide a powerful and authentic narrative that goes beyond geopolitical rhetoric, and their unique experience can bridge decades of division.
Shervin left DC and started a career as a music and voice therapist in 2009. He wrote this song understanding that conflicts--whether between people or countries, require compassion, dignity, and the honoring of free will, in order to resolve.

Shervin is an Iranian-American refugee, raised in the UK. Pure Hearts contains his most deeply felt vocal performance yet. It’s shared as a plea; both personal and global, to choose a peaceful way forward between the cultural in conflict that are part of his identity. The emotional impact of 47 years of inner fragmentation and personal conflictedness, since Iran was first isolated by the West, inspired most of his newest material-including this track he just released.

Sting’s Grammy winning producer, Kipper Eldridge, collaborated with Shervin Boloorian on this project as well as guest musicians, Sakari Heikka and Jules De Gasperis.

About The Artist
Shervin Boloorian is an Iranian-born singer, songwriter, and refugee whose music carries the weight of displacement and the light of healing. Based in Bali, he is also a sound therapist, natural sound artist, and author. Singing in English, Persian, and other languages, Shervin blends world music with soul-stirring storytelling.
His voice, known for its silky vibrato and emotional intensity, has the rare ability to soothe while confronting the deepest themes of loss, hope, and resilience. In 2020, Shervin received three Global Peace Song Awards for I Hear You Mother Earth, a collection of medicine songs, and his Sufi-inspired release One with the Beloved was endorsed by best-selling Rumi translator Coleman Barks. This year, he was nominated for three World Entertainment Awards.
