HOLLAND: Scheveningen Beach - The Hague 2011 [HD]

A windy day at harbor beach, at the seaside resort Scheveningen, Netherlands. This part of the beach, close by the Scheveningen harbour, is very popular amongst surfers and water sport fans.

Renovation:
The changing climate has its effect on the rising of the Scheveningen sea level. Through the increase of the sea level the safety of the visitors and inhabitants cannot be ensured for the next 50 years. In 2009 an ambitious project "Scheveningen world city at sea" was launched to enlarge the dikes and the boulevard. Not only will the boulevard a lot prettier but also a lot safer. The renovation will also have its positive effect on the image of Scheveningen as a modern and luxurious coastal destination. The project is scheduled to finish by the end of 2013.
