ASO Tutorial: Tracking app growth acquisition metrics

There are a lot of metrics that are available in App Store Connect and Google Play Console showing your app's performance. It can be confusing sometimes to define which metrics to track, how often, how to understand if the mobile app is performing fine, and which metrics need improvement.
In this tutorial, I am showing which iser acquisition metrics you should track on a regular basis, what is the source of those numbers and why you should keep an eye not only on absolute numbers, but also on conversion rates. You will learn about:
- what is the Pirate Funnel (aka AAARRR funnel) in growth marketing
- what each of the Pirate funnel steps (awareness, acquisition, activation, retention, revenue and referral) mean for your app and which events measure each of the steps
- why tracking conversion from step to step is important
- how to use App Store Connect to track metrics for your iOS app
- how to use Google Play Console to track performance of your Android app
- a simple Google Sheet for tracking app acquisition metrics (AAA in the Pirate Funnel)

The video is focused on acquisition and does not cover tracking of retention metrics.

Note that this is an example for an average app. Each app is unique, with its unique user journey and its monetization model. You are welcome to adapt my approach to your personal needs :)
