Testing an RV Black Waste Tank in A Vintage Airstream Travel Trailer Camper

Today I tested the 11 gallon black waste tank in my 1961 Airstream Bambi 16' travel trailer for leaks. I determined that the waste gate needs replacement and is also obsolete and will not work with modern fittings. The toilet flange is also obsolete and would need to be cut out of the fiberglass and a new one installed with lots of fiberglass patching. Now I have to decide on a complete custom black tank replacement or to install a modern 3" toilet flange and purchase a Valterra waste gate to vintage brass trailer waste systems adapter plate from www.vintagetrailersupply.com.
