Is Foreign Aid from the US, EU, and UK to Africa a Grand Ponzi Scheme Disguised as Generosity?

The Unscrupulous Western Foreign Aid, NGOs and Humanitarian Assistance
Much of the foreign aid from the US, EU, and UK to Africa is funnelled through NGOs and organisations based in their respective countries. In the EU alone, over 28 million people are employed by charities, while more than 13 million work in similar organisations in the US, and over 1.2 million in the UK. This totals over 42 million individuals. These workers are taxpayers, contributing to the economies of their own countries. The average annual salary in these regions exceeds $50,000, which is up to 10 times higher than salaries in many African nations.

The aid that passes through these NGOs often covers not only their salaries but also overheads, directors' extravagant bonuses, and other expenses. As a result, these inflows and outflows of funds benefit local economies more than they help people in Africa. Furthermore, no significant Western aid is allocated directly to government-to-government assistance. If the intention is to provide real help, it would be more effective to support people directly rather than create intermediaries who use a portion of the aid for their own expenses. Every African government has a bank account that can be used for direct assistance if that is the goal.

In contrast, Israel receives direct government-to-government assistance because those are the ones the West, especially the US, truly cares about. Africa doesn't need this foreign aid, be it from China, Russia, or the West. BCD encourages Westerners NOT to donate to Africa. What we truly need is respect and fair trade. Less than 1% of black Africans currently live in the West. If you exclude those born there or who are first- and second-generation immigrants, that number drops even further. It will be a great idea for the West to ban us (black Africans) from coming to live in their countries, which will allow us to concentrate on our continent and foster a sense of dignity, free from disrespect.
