The Left is waiting for Trump to have his ‘Tiananmen Square moment’

If Donald Trump cracks down on the emerging violence and looting in the US the Left will call it his “Tiananmen Square moment” according to Sky News host James Morrow.

Protesting and looting has rapidly increased in the US amid the death of unarmed African-American man George Floyd at the hands of police, with protesters marching in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

A small sect of protesters have begun attempting to take over areas of cities declaring them ‘Autonomous Zones’ such as in Seattle, as well as a failed attempts in Portland and in Washington DC.

Mr Morrow said the violence playing out in the streets of the US and the dramatic escalation of the cancel culture movement, are dangerous for President Trump’s reelection hopes.

“For Trump, he is kind of in a position where he cannot go in and crack down too hard,” Mr Morrow told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“If he does, the Left is absolutely waiting for some sort of thing that they will call his Tiananmen Square moment.”
