INSPIRED BY FILM • Camera Shots to Change the Way You Write a Scene • New Series!

Use movies to inspire your writing! In this video, the first in a series, we'll examine ten different shots a cinematographer or director can use to achieve different views for an audience. Each of these shots emphasize something specific and is an effective way for a director to communicate a message to the audience. You can use the same idea in your writing! I'll give you examples of what each of these shots looks like in film PLUS excerpts from various novels as examples. UNFORTUNATELY I had to mute the audio for the clip from "Singin' In the Rain" for copyright issues, but you'll still get the gist of the example :)
