Nightmare mode with no leveling up can be a tough challenge, but it gets easier as you progress. Earlier game is harder, since you don't have many options to increase your stats or use elements the bosses are weak to.

You can't level up, but you can still increase HP, Aura and Sand bars with potions and some enemies drop very good gear. And you can still increase the levels of your orbs, making them stronger.
