How to Get Local Twitter Followers for Your Small Business - 2015 Tutorial
Learn how social media management professionals growth hack Twitter! https://www.udemy.com/growth-hacking-twitter/?couponCode=LAUNCH10
Hello everyone, a few of my students have been asking me how to build a following on Twitter for their local business, and following users based simply on an interest might not be sufficient. In this tutorial, I will show you how to follow users based on their location using Tweepi. You can sign up to use Tweepi for free, however you need the premium to version to use the tools I am about to show you. So, the first option for adding geo-targeted followers is to use the “Tweet search” tool. So let’s say I own a coffee shop and I want to search for users who tweet about coffee. Next I’m going to click on the “Advanced/Geo” button and enter Seattle. I will search within 50 miles. The profiles on this list are all people who have tweeted about coffee in the city of Seattle. Now, as you can see this isn’t a perfect tool because people could just be visiting Seattle and you probably want permanent residents for your local business. The next tool I use to add local followers is the “Bio search” option. I will once search for users in Seattle, WA. This list will show me users who have Seattle in their name, bio and as their location. This might be the most consistent tool for adding local followers. Before I start following people I will set up a filter to show me profile with more than 100 followers and sort by follow ratio. I will skip the people with a follow ratio over 200%, because it is unlikely they will follow me back. I hope this tutorial helps you add local followers!
