Christmas Karen: Behind the Story – Ben Gavin, Actor in Hallmark Christmas Movies

The Emmy Award-winning writer of the Netflix, hit A Christmas Prince, Karen Schaler, premieres her new exclusive show Christmas Karen: Behind the Story. Each week Schaler will take us inside the magical world of making Hallmark, Lifetime, and Netflix Christmas movies and writing holiday novels!

She’ll be talking with writers, directors, actors, crew members, producers, and authors, who will all share their inspiring and uplifting personal journeys and give insightful insider advice and tips, paying it forward, knowing we’re all in this together!

This week Karen talks with Ben Gavin, an actor in several Hallmark Christmas movies, including Karen’s original Christmas Camp Hallmark movie where she also wrote the books Christmas Camp and Christmas Camp Wedding, published by HarperCollins and Hallmark’s My Christmas Love.

Ben Gavin grew up in San Antonio, Texas. As an accomplished athlete, Ben received a division 1 baseball scholarship to the University of Texas, where his love for acting led him to become a drama major. Shortly after college he moved to Los Angeles where he began aggressively pursuing an acting career. In 2011, Ben made his film debut in J.J. Abrams, Super 8 (2011) as Assistant Deputy Danny Milner. He has also acted in several other independent shorts and features and continues to study with noted acting coaches and directors. His passion for entertainment is not limited to the screen or stage, as Ben is also a very avid singer songwriter.

More about Christmas Karen: Focused on giving back, Karen has started her own publishing company, HawkTale Publishing, and her next heartfelt holiday story CHRISTMAS EVER AFTER, a Mamma Mia meets The Bachelorette style love story comes out on September 29th, with a portion of every book sold being donated to help libraries and bookstores. During Christmas Karen: Behind the Story, Karen will also be sharing her own personal journey as she works on two new Christmas movies and her next novels.
