Kingdom Hearts II - Sephiroth Battle

Status: Sora is Level 99. He's the only one that really matters here.

This entire fight is completely optional, and you don't have to do it right away like I did. You can come back with all the best weapons, accessories, and all the like. I personally just do it as soon as I can. Here's some abilities I recommend having on: Guard, Counterguard, Retaliating Slash, Second Chance and Once More. Aerial Dodge is also good if you have leveled up your Master Form a fair deal.

Make your way to the Dark Depths (which is after the Great Maw, down at the bottom of the world), and you will find Sephiroth. He wants to know what Cloud is doing, but Sora doesn't know. Sephiroth then takes out his sword and turns to Sora and the rest, demanding to know who they are. When Sephiroth sees Sora's Keyblade, he finds it a very interesting sword. Donald tells him it's the Keyblade, and Sephiroth asks if he's its wielder. Sora wants to know what happens if he is, and Sephiroth wants to get it from him, one way or another.

Sephiroth has many tricks up his sleeve. His first move is always the same, though. When you hear him say "That's enough", use 'Block' to guard against his attacks, then attack him. When he stands far away from you and slowly approaches, be ready to jump or guard his sword swings, or you will take high damage. If you have the Counterguard ability on, you can guard then Counterguard his attacks to create an opening and attack. If he knocks you into the air, use the Retaliating Slash ability to stop him and attack in the air. When you see Sephiroth raise into the air, attack him quickly, or he will unleash an attack that drains all your MP and leaves you with 1 HP. Elixirs will fix that right up if you have them, otherwise attack quickly. After that he will always do the "That's enough" attack, so be ready. He will also call dark spheres around you that will lock on and attack after a brief period. Use Reflega to get rid of them and attack back. When Sephiroth raises his arm and says "Perish now", get away from him, as he will wrap himself in pillars of flame. When Sephiroth's HP starts to fall, he will gain more power from darkness, and attack much faster. He will also add a new attack (which isn't shown), where he rains down meteors on you. If you have Aerial Dodge, they should not be too hard to avoid, and do relatively little damage, anyway. The key is to keep pace with Sephiroth's attacks, and wear him down and defeat him to get a bonus level-up,

Bonus Level-Up 44:
Sora - Drive Gauge Increased (new max 6)

Sephiroth tells Sora he is skilled, but says only Cloud can take him out. He tells Sora to go get Cloud, as he is ready to settle things. Head back to the Marketplace to talk with Cloud, and Sora tells him where he is. Cloud realizes it's time to settle things, and heads off to fight. Follow him back to the Dark Depths and talk to Sephiroth again. Cloud slowly approaches, and Sephiroth tells him he will never let go of his past and the darkness. Cloud refuses to listen, and they clash swords. As they lock, Sephiroth tells Cloud it's pointless to defeat him, because the darkness in Cloud's heart calls him back. Tifa comes in and says that he is wrong, and wants to help Cloud. Sephiroth says there isn't a way to help, since he can't let go of darkness. Tifa says he doesn't need to, just to surround himself with light, placing the darkness out of reach. Sephiroth, intrigued by that, attacks Tifa, seeing what 'light' can do. Cloud feels something within him, and can't look. Sephiroth suddenly attack Cloud, but he avoids it. Tifa gives Cloud her light, but Sephiroth tries to prevent it. When he attacks, Cloud's body glows, and they both leap into the air and a light appears, and they vanish.

Goofy wonders where they went, and Sora tells Cloud went to fight a battle to defeat the darkness inside him. Tifa realizes Cloud is gone again as Sora asks what she'll do now. Tifa says she will keep looking for him, and Sora asks if she has any leads. Tifa tells them light is easy to find, then gives Sora something for helping him. Sora wonders when he helped, but Tifa leaves without a word. What she gave Sora is the Fenrir Keyblade (Attack 7, Magic 1, Negative Combo). This is, in my opinion, the best blade for your Valor Form.
