Netflix Fixes Stranger Things Season 5 Editing Error Fans Spotted #StrangerThingsUpdate

After Stranger Things fans noticed a historically inaccurate piece of clothing on Holly Wheeler during episode season of the Netflix series, the editing snafu was quickly cleared up.

The Duffer Brothers didn't need to be sorcerers—or wizards—to spot this mistake.

After all, when Stranger Things viewers noticed Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) wearing an Under Armour shirt while trapped under Vecna's vines, the series co-creators quickly edited the anachronism out of episode seven, titled "The Bridge."

Holly had been wearing the ColdGear shirt under her green sweater, which had lifted past her elbow as she clawed her way out of one of the pods, which Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) used to entrap several children. With the series taking place in 1987, however, Under Armour wouldn't be founded for another nine years.

Fans picked up on the discrepancy after volume two's Dec. 25 release and posted about it on X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit.

As one user quipped on X, "Holly wearing Under Armour in season five of @Stranger_Things is more unsettling than Vecna."

Meanwhile, one fan on Reddit wasn't too concerned about the hiccup, writing, “Guys, this isn't a big deal. Mistakes happen. I didn't even notice."

As discussions ensued, the error was swiftly and quietly fixed. Now, as Holly escaped Vecna's trap in the Abyss, also known as Dimension X, the Under Armour logo on her shirt is no longer there.

While Holly—previously played by twins Anniston Prince and Tinsley Price—had been left in the dark about the Upside Down in the past four seasons, she plays a far bigger role in Stranger Things' final installment.

In fact, Matt Duffer admitted that before writing season five, he and Ross Duffer didn't initially think Holly—who ultimately became the key for Max (Sadie Sink) to escape Vecna's mind—would be very important to the storyline.

"We knew [Max] was going to be trapped in Vecna's mind," he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Dec. 25, "but her story really evolved a lot as we worked on it with the writers."

Now, grab some Peanut Butter Boppers and keep reading for some supernatural Stranger Things secrets.

Volume three of Stranger Things premieres on Netflix Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET.
