Experiences of Horror During a Coma | An Interview with Joachim Nicolay

30 to 50 percent of people who were in intensive care, are traumatised later on. For example, they report: “You have to imagine it like being in a nightmare… but like a nightmare that is ten times worse. It’s actually not just like a nightmare. It’s worse. It’s a proper horror trip.“

Dr. Joachim Nicolay, psychologist and philosopher, calls for a better handling of experiences during a coma. He criticises that “medicine suffers from visual agnosia”.
