Jay Cutler never followed a standard workout routine. He trained on a two-days-on, one-day-off schedule to allow proper recovery, focusing on one body part per session for 60–90 minutes, sometimes training twice a day. When working two body parts, he split them into separate sessions.

Nutrition was just as extreme and disciplined. While bulking at around 250 pounds, he consumed up to four pounds of meat or five pounds of fish daily. Even when dieting, he ate seven meals a day, every two hours, often force-feeding himself. The menu never changed. Total consistency in training and diet was the cornerstone of his success.
