After a 2nd attempt, slight correction to what I say about a standard tripod head not fixing securely. What I did was reduce the exposed 3/8" thread to a shorter exposed length and it worked fine.

A heavy-duty tripod with 1.75" diameter stainless steel legs and a centre bolt connector with 3/8" tripod thread, complete with accessory tray.

Tripod extends from 83.5cm to 115cm. Compatible with the Sky-Watcher 21.5cm extension tube (code 20313).

Can be used to upgrade the standard aluminium tripod supplied with the AZ5, AZ PRONTO, AZ-GTi, & AZ-EQ AVANT mount/telescope models, providing much greater stability.

Also compatible with some standard tripod heads with 3/8" fitting.
(Tripod head needs be less than 60mm wide)

Can be used with the Skywatcher tripod extension tube (optional extra) for extra height (details below)
Constructed from cast aluminium. 215mm overall length. Base and top platform diameter 70mm. Female 3/8" thread on base. Male threaded 3/8" screw connector on top platform (top platform separable from main body).
