Hello everyone, welcome to a new video on this channel. I'm rarely surprised by the performance of a system. Whether positively or negatively. Already before recording a video, in most cases, I know how it's going to end. Will we have another third-world system performance-wise or maybe a system that is holding up pretty well? It's not that much of a surprise for me.
But this time, I have to admit, I got well surprised, positively.
We're talking about an Intel Core i5 6400, its integrated graphics Intel HD Graphics 530, and 16GB of DDR4 dual-channel ram. All built-in a Fujitsu OEM case. The dual-channel ram is very important for this system because it's not only doubling the bandwidth, it's resulting in a huge performance boost for the integrated graphics. And that's one of the main reasons why this system kept up that well.
So guys, one tip in general: Please don't use a system with integrated graphics and just one ram bar. Dual-channel is very important, especially on AMD systems. Single-channel ram would give you 30-40% less in terms of fps compared to dual channel ram.
To my surprise, all the games that I've picked up for this system were launching. Only Warzone has been completely unplayable due to very low fps.
Of course, a lot of titles like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Rainbow Six Siege, or Apex Legends have been just barely playable.
But it's still a very good result for the Intel HD 530.
So you might guess it already. I can recommend this system for gaming in 2021 if you pay attention to use dual-channel ram.
It's good because of 2 reasons.
Reason one: You can use it for the transitional period until GPU prices drop. Because pairing the i5 6400 with a GTX1650, for example, would make you able to play all titles of 2021 without any problem. Even Warzone is going to run 50FPS+.
Reason two: The performance is already good enough to play most current games that aren't that hardware hungry, like GTA V, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Fortnite, and so on.
So this benchmark has been some sort of a hidden gem test.
