Seal spotted splashing around and sunbathing - 40miles inland

The happy pup was spotted along the River Ouse in St Ives, Cambs, and was caught on camera rolling around in the murky water, seemingly unafraid of the lens.

Nathaniel Gore, 33, said he was very "surprised" when he saw the plump creature as he went on a morning walk by the river on Sunday morning. Nathaniel, an editorial project manager from St Ives, said: "I'd actually moved house and it was my first walk up that way on the river so it was a very pleasant surprise to see the seal.
"It swam past me and went the other way. I followed it and then I spotted it as I sat down by the river bank.
