The temples lost in Bhakra Dam's waters

When the Bhakra Dam was completed in 1963, its reservoir, Gobind Sagar, stretched for almost 100km behind it. The old Bilaspur town founded in 1654 AD was submerged in Gobind Sagar’s waters. All of its palaces, homes, and other modern buildings have disappeared over the years, but even today its centuries-old stone temples emerge from the water every winter.
