El Vendrell is a municipality and town in the province of Tarragona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Capital of the Bajo Panadés region, population of 38,373 inhabitants.
The origins of the population date back to the 10th century, It appears for the first time in 1037 in a document that talks about the irrigation of Venrel.

Of the old walls that surrounded the city, only the Pardo portal remains. The portal was opened on a manor house from 1623. Part of its façade is decorated with 18th century sgraffito.

In the interior, agriculture and industry have been the main economic engines. The coastal area has focused its economic development on tourism.
