To help celebrate the release, I thought I would share an insight into how I producing and processed the title track 'The Deep'. I'll be showing you how I process my drums to get them pin sharp, how I create my basses and how I build tension through the track.

ϟ The Deep ϟ

'The Deep' shows the deeper minimal side of CELO's love for drum & bass. The purpose of the track is to set a simple, dark mood suitable for the atmospheric club nights that drum & bass offers.
Using influences from Leftfield to modern day producers such as ARKAIK, the track starts with an almost empty, eerie atmosphere whilst precise drums set the pace of the tracks intentions. FX help to show the depth and vastness of the track, quickly followed by a simple dark synth line leading to the drop.

The thick sub bass fills the track after the drop, twisting and turning in the musical space with effects rising in intensity whilst more and more elements build back towards the eerie atmosphere.
A track definitely on the darker side of CELO's arsenal of dancefloor weapons.
