Fixing police brutality requires building power in local communities | Dayvon Love | TEDxMidAtlantic
The Civil Rights Movement was about building the power of communities who are most directly affected by racism of white supremacy, the power to determine their destiny and form the institutions that control their lives, argues Baltimore activist Dayvon Love. So when we look at the issue of police brutality, the answer is to build communal power by investing in the people in the communities, in the neighborhoods, Love says. The intersection of public policy and protest is the formula for social transformation.
