Cheyenne Jackson has been announced as the actor that will be portraying Hades in DESCENDANTS 3.

Does this mean that finally we can put a face to Mal's dad?!

Welcome back Virals, it`s ThePaparazzo and today we are going to talk about the latest addition the villain cast of Descendants 3!

The Descendants threequel might not be coming out until next summer, but Disney is already hard at work casting a bunch of new characters for you to meet. One of them is Hades. He's a total villain! In Descendants 3, Hades will be played by the actor and singer Cheyenne Jackson. Keep watching for insider information about Jackson and the character he'll play!

#10. Cheyenne Jackson appeared on "Glee"
Glee was a musical comedy that ran from 2009-2015. Jackson was on the show as "Dustin Goolsby." He was the vocal coach for "Vocal Adrenaline," which was one of the many show choir groups that would compete against each other.

#9. He was also on "30 Rock"!
This was a popular comedy that aired on NBC. Jackson played Danny Baker, a former street performer who becomes a full-time cast member on an in-universe TV show.

#8. Hades is also already part of Descendants canon
He appeared twice: in the tie-in book "Return to the Isle of the Lost" and also the cartoon "Descendants: Wicked World."

#7. Hades is based on Greek mythology
In the original stories, way before Disney came along, the Greeks thought that Hades was the god of death. Spooky!

#6. Disney has used the character before
Hades first appeared in the Disney cartoon "Hercules," which came out in 1997. In the cartoon, Hades was still the god of death, but he was way sillier. That makes us wonder just how evil Hades will be in Descendants 3...

#5 Jackson has quite the singing chops!
He's been on Broadway a BUNCH of times: he was in "Xanadu" and "All Shook Up." We're pretty sure this makes him well-qualified to keep up with belting alongside the Villain Kids!

#4. Other Descendants characters are terrified of Hades
In the Descendants: Wicked World episode "Pair of Sneakers," the character Freddie sees a Hades statue which scares her a lot. If just a statue can be that scary, what do you think a live-action version of Hades might be like?!

#3. Hades has a son...
...in "Return to the Isle of the Lost," at least! The book introduces his son Hadie, who lives on the Isle of the Lost and forms an "Anti-Hero Club" with some of the other Villain Kids. No word yet on whether Hadie will show up in Descendants 3.

#2. We might already know what his profession is!
There's a sign next to Lady Tremaine's "Curl Up & Dye" salon that says "Hades' Souvlaki, it's under this world." Souvlaki is one of the most typical Greek dishes. That's also a clever reference to how Hades lives in the underworld because he's the god of the dead. Based on that poster, we might see Hades selling food!

#1. He's been defeated before
In the Hercules movie, Hades was trapped in the River Styx, which is the yucky river that flows through the Underworld. So even if he's the main villain in "Descendants 3," we know that he has weaknesses.
