♡ PICNIC DIYS ♡

DIY Watermelon Print Picnic Blanket
Materials
- Drop cloth from hardware store – you can cut to size
- Fabric paint
- Paint brushes
- Paper plate for stencil
I made my own stencil using a paper plate, I just outlined a half circle and cut it out with an exacto knife
Then I used a combo of neon pink and red fabric paint for the base of the watermelon and I just stippled it on
I used neon green for the rind and I basically just painted a thin stripe around the pink
From there I used a small eyeshadow brush to draw on some watermelon seeds

DIY Portable Placemat + Utensil Holder
- 2 bamboo sushi rolling mats, I found these at the dollar store
- Elastic
- String
- Plastic utensils and napkin
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon

To make the placemat I tied two together with string on the top and bottom so it was big enough
Then you want to set down your utensils and napkin and take some elastic and use it to thread through the bamboo mat so that the utensils and napkin are secure onto the mat
Then you want to flip it over and take some hot glue and glue down the elastic to the back and cut off the excess
It all rolls up and you can take some ribbon and loop it through the edge and tie your placemat together
DIY Natural Bug Spray/ Bug Repellent
- Spray bottle
- Water
- Witch hazel
- Essential oil use any of the following: Citronella, Clove, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Cajeput, Eucalyptus, Cedar, Catnip, Lavender, Mint. You can find these at your local health food store or online

Fill up half your container with water, and half with witch hazel. Then add 30-40 drops of essential oil of choice (see above)
♡ P I C N I C R E C I P E S ♡ Healthy Picnic Food

Pesto Pasta Salad
Pesto
Plum tomatoes cut in half
Some sliced or crumbled feta cheese
Pitted olives
And then some cooked and cooled pasta of your choice, I personally like brown rice pasta
Then this is all ready to go, easy to make and can be made in advance. When you’re ready to eat shake it up to combine everything.

Quinoa Summer Salad
Start with your cooked and cooled quinoia
A little parsley or herbs of choice
Plum tomatoes
Red onion
Some sliced cucumber
And finish with some sweet corn, fresh is going to taste best but frozen also works!
Top with a few more sprigs of parsley and it’s all done. I just eat this with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Fresh Fruit Salad
Cantaloupe
Kiwi
Mango
Blueberries
Raspberries
You can use whatever you like – you can never go wring with seasonal fresh fruit
And the easiest and healthiest dessert

Watermelon Mint Drink
Start with coconut water and add some fresh watermelon. I used 3 cups of coconut water and 2 cups of watermelon but you can adjust based on how much you want to make.
Handful of mint leaves
And the juice of ½ a lime
Blend this all together
This drink is so delicious and you can also freeze it and at eat it like Italian ice!

Other Picnic Essentials (check out your local dollar store for inexpensive items!)

Then you’re ready to go have your amazing picnic!!
