Friday Afternoon Tropical Update: Two areas to watch in the Atlantic, Laura weakens

As Laura weakens due to now being well inland and an upper trough/dry air ripping it apart, the rainfall being drawn out of the Gulf will continue to traverse SE LA and some rounds of heavy rain are possible overnight and on Friday.

The storm will move east across the Mid-Atlantic states bring heavy rainfall and gusty winds. It will move back into the Atlantic this weekend and winds will increase as it becomes post-tropical.

All tropical watches and warnings have expired with only a Coastal Flood Advisory still in effect until noon Friday due to the slow drop in high water levels along the coast.

Localized inland flooding is still possible through Friday with any remaining feeder bands, but the risk is lower tomorrow.
