Late Summer Walleye Fishing Through Pods Of Baitfish On Lake Erie - Walleye Were Spitting Up Shad

We're walleye fishing in the heat of summer on Lake Erie. We ran long leads with deep diving crankbaits, 2ox snapweight and dipsy divers. We're fishing deep but not too deep to avoid sheephead, white bass and other undesired fish. We found a pile of baitfish, went trolling through and smashed the walleyes there. Many of them were spitting up the bait fish as we brought the walleye into the boat
