Welcome to the Urban Survivor channel and in this video we’re going to be taking a look at the Lumintop GT Nano which is a tiny keychain sized flashlight with an incredibly long throw and as far as keychain flashlights go, this one has the best throw I’ve ever seen. It comes from a long line of throwers from lumintop and this one is by far the smallest.

Aside from the obvious cool factor that comes with a light that can throw a beam the distance of several football fields that easily fits in your pocket, a thrower is useful for spotting things at long distance that your typical keychain flashlight might not be able to illuminate. It’s also useful for pointing out things at long distances to other people and it can also act as a beacon and it’s great for emergency purposes.

The Lumintop GT Nano comes with a charger, a micro usb cable, some spare o-rings, a lanyard and a carabiner style keyring which is everything you need to get started.

The GT Nano comes factory set to use the Ramping UI and to turn the light on all you have to do is push the button on the side. If you hold the button down it will ramp up from low to full power in about 3 seconds. When the remapping is finished it will blink to indicate its reached full power. If you continue to hold the button it will ramp back down to it’s lowest output. You can also double click the power button to enter turbo. The default UI should be suitable for most people but there are several settings that are configurable and there’s also a strobe function on the light as well.

As you can see by the beamshots the throw on the Lumintop GT Nano is absolutely incredible and under ideal conditions I don’t think that a 300m throw is out of the question. When I was testing this light I was incredibly impressed and it far exceeded my expectations and it competes in throw distance with lights that are much larger.

One thing to keep in mind is that the battery life is not going to last very long so if you plan on using it a lot you are going to need to keep some spares with you. I was able to get in about 5 good tests before I noticed that the output began to decline more significantly. Also, because it’s designed to throw, it's not very well suited for up close tasks because the beam is so focused. It would probably be good to carry around another keychain light that's more suited for up close tasks for some balance. I’m not a huge fan of the backlit button either because it's still tough to see and it drains the battery but there is a way you can turn it off in the settings.

Overall if you are looking for a pocket thrower you are not going to find one better than the GT Nano.
