Ivatt 46521 arrives onto the Swanage Railway 21/03/2019

Another visitor has landed at the Swanage Railway, in preparation for their 'Spring Steam Up', in the shape of BR(M) Class 2MT - 46521.

Originally designed by George Ivatt in the final years of the LMS, 46521 was among the final batch to be built, being constructed in 1953 at Swindon Works under British Railways ownership.

46521, unofficially named "Blossom" in preservation, is normally based at the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire, and will remain at the Swanage Railway until the end of April. The loco is covering for Ex-SR U Class - 31806, which is currently out of service for repairs. Seen here being unloaded at Norden onto SR metals, Swanage resident BR Class 33 - 33111 then hauled 46521 onward to Swanage.

All footage filmed on Thursday the 21st of March 2019.
