Big Relief in Upcoming Budget | Islamabad | Isma Shaukat | Pakistan Connect

Pakistan is preparing to present its federal budget for the fiscal year 2026–27, expected in the first week of June, as the government’s economic team begins work on key proposals and strategy. An International Monetary Fund delegation is likely to visit Islamabad in early May to review the budget framework and hold discussions with officials.

The upcoming budget may include relief measures such as a reduction in income tax slabs and super tax, along with possible revisions to tax exemptions for certain sectors, including economic zones. Changes in electricity and gas pricing are also expected to be part of the new fiscal plan. The IMF team is anticipated to stay for around two weeks to assess proposals and provide input, as Pakistan finalizes its economic roadmap for the next financial year.
