► CORRECTIONS:
In an earlier version of this video we explained that "gegenüber" was always used with the genitive. This is in fact wrong as some of you noted in the comments. According to Duden "gegenüber" is always used with the dative: https://www.duden.de/rechtschreibung/gegenueber_Praeposition
"Gegenüber" forms an interesting case though of a word that is used differently in every day language and formal speech. While "gegenüber" is correctly used with dative, to Cari, Manuel and many other native speakers "gegenüber" sounds right with the genitive case. Here you can read more about these mix-ups:
