What Is Bioretention?

Bioretention is the process of capturing, filtering, and removing large quantities of incoming water through the use of multiple layers of rock, sediment, and organic materials.

On-Call Waterproofing recently finished a bioretention job in Parma, Ohio. In this specific application, following a heavy rain, stormwater would fall off the road toward the homeowner's flower beds. At best, this was a mild inconvenience that would overload the flower beds with too much water. At worst, a heavy rain would completely uproot the entire system.

The city agreed to aid with the installation of a bioretention system placed before the homeowner's property.
