13 Year Old Girl Plays Get the Funk Out with Extreme - Cincinnati, OH

The young lady in this video will be checking this account periodically.** During the VIP "Meet and Greet" at Extreme's Pornograffitti 25th Anniversary Tour stop in Cincinnati, OH -- this young lady asked Nuno to sign the headstock of her Washburn N2. When he asked if she played, she shared a video of a recent practice session she had playing Get the Funk Out. It impressed the band and near the conclusion of the sound check, she was unexpectedly invited to join them and play. This was her first Extreme concert and a present for her 13th birthday. She had only started learning Get the Funk out about two months prior, and had only once successfully completed the solo in real-time (which unfortunately didn't happen again in this show). She had only gone over the post-solo portion of the song two nights before, and had not covered the outtro --- she improvised from how she remembered the song ending -- and Pat Badger was a true professional by adapting to her improvisations (and reeling her in a few times). She warned Nuno before accepting his guitar that she wasn't polished with the song, but as he and Gary joked, all she had to do was [strum the strings, raise an arm and it will be fine]. ;-) They were awesome with her and she had a blast - a night she will never forget, and encouragement to practice even more. A fine example of just how awesome Extreme is with their fans, both old and new (and young).
