This http error inside your WordPress dashboard is an annoying error and I was simply tired of half assed videos where people don’t even speak on the video and the fix is full of code and doesn’t work.
First of all, I don’t need to mess with the code of my website for a mickey mouse fix thank you very much, second of all, I need to know what the ROOT of the error is, not in a different coding language.
This video is for anyone getting this error so that you understand why you’re getting the error and how to resolve the size of your images so that you do not get the error.
Word of caution, don’t mess with your website’s code. You can potentially crash your entire site if you don’t know what you’re doing. Then you’ll end up paying a developer a ton of money to fix your site. Why risk it? All you have to do is change the size of your photo.
Most new digital cameras and phones take pictures in a very high resolution, to the tune of about 5500 pixels. That is very, very large. If you try to upload that size to WordPress, it won’t work unless your host has a very high storage and bandwidth, and most shared server environments do not.
So the BEST option is not to try to re-do your website code, but to change the size of your picture. DUH.
I mean seriously, if I see one more video with ten thousand views and hundreds of comments that are all stupid solutions and fake comments I might just scream. I wish I could reach through my computer and slap those idiots.
If you don’t have Photoshop, use a free option like Canva to change the size of your photo. A regular 13 inch laptop screen is 960 pixels wide. So if you upload a photo that is 1000 or 1200 px wide, it will be crystal clear.
