AC-130W Stinger II Gunship • Now 105mm Howitzer In A Plane

Originally, the AC-130W Stinger II was not equipped with a 105mm howitzer cannon like previous AC-130 variants had been. But after reassessing past combat missions and considering Airmen feedback, the U.S. Air Force reversed it's decision and refitted the Stinger gunships with the big 105mm cannon in 2017. Video shows training mission of an AC-130W Stinger II gunship from the 16th Special Operations Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base firing the 105mm gun, and footage of 4th Special Operations Squadron Airmen firing the 105 from an AC-130U Spooky.
