Elisabeth Welch - River of Dreams, 1936

This is from "Song of Freedom," which starred Mr. Paul Robeson, and lovely Elisabeth Welch. A fascinating tale of an African man, and his wife. Once he decides to look for his roots, they visit his ancestral home in Africa. This clip relates to their both being separated, and locked up in separate cells. Lovely Ms. Welch sings to her husband in the hope that he'll hear her and gain courage for their trials to follow!
