When we first arrived in Dubai we did what most people do.

We went to the most popular spots. The ones that come up on every list. They are fine but fine is not really what you are looking for when you have three kids, a full bag and a whole day to spend.

After months of trying different beaches here are the three we actually keep coming back to.

1. Kite Beach:

This one is famous for a reason and it earns it. Wide open space, clean water and enough going on around it to keep the kids entertained for hours. Food options right there, plenty of room to set up and a vibe that works for families without feeling too crowded. If you are new to Dubai and not sure where to start, start here.

2. Al Mamzar Beach Park:

This is the one most people skip because there is a small entry fee to get in. Do not skip it. That entry fee is exactly what keeps it calm, clean and not overrun. Shaded areas, BBQ spots, multiple beach sections and water that is gentle and safe for young kids to swim in. One of the best family beaches in Dubai and one of the most underrated. Worth every dirham of that entry fee.

3. Dubai Islands:

Most people do not know about this one yet and that is exactly why it is worth going now. The area is still being developed so it is genuinely quiet. Clean, spacious and you almost feel like you have the whole place to yourself. It will not stay this way once the development is finished. Go while it is still like this.
