I Tried an UNDERWATER Photoshoot!

You know how I love #photography, well… In this video I DIVE into underwater photography for the first time! My dancer friend Lily modeled for me in my swimming pool, and we tried a whole UNDERWATER PHOTOSHOOT with dance moves and #acro poses! We even had her dress up as a #mermaid! Taking pictures underwater is A LOT harder than it looks!

Lily is so talented, she really could have been on Dance Moms. She’s been in #dance her whole life, is such a great ballerina and gymnast, and has also been a cheerleader. Even more… she’s my best friend! We also decided to challenge Jordan Matter to an underwater photo shoot, so if you see this… be sure to challenge him on his channel or Instagram!

So, Lily and I decided to try 3 different looks in this #underwaterphotography video. The first is a simple black leotard, and I really wanted her to show off some of her dancer poses! We started with this pose because it was the least complicated look, which made it easier to establish an underwater photography workflow. It takes a while to get used to shooting underwater! After Lily and I got into the groove we moved on to our second look, the dresses!

So for our second segment, we tried two different dresses with props to see what they would look like UNDERWATER! It was A LOT more challenging working with clothes and props underwater rather than just having a leotard! I think we got some great pictures though!

Our final look, the look you’ve all been waiting for, is our MERMAID LOOK! We’ve had this mermaid tail for awhile, and the top is actually Brooklyn’s from her latest swimsuit video on the BrooklynAndBailey channel! This was a super fun video to shoot, HOWEVER, I recommend that you don’t try this at home without a strong swimmer present, a safety setup, adult supervision AND the right waterproof equipment!
